I am totally obsessed with the Art Deco period and in particular the work of Frank Lloyd Wright. His window designs are truly amazing, allowing you to see the window and the vista behind.
This window space inspired me to find out how stained glass windows are made and jump on the first available course. I signed up for a day course at Cariad Glass in Llandysul, Ceredigion , Wales and never looked back. The course was amazing and inspired me to take up glass work so I could one day make this window.
The window I have created for our front door was an epic undertaking. I did have a few relatives question if I had taken on too much, I just ignored them and kept plugging away. When we installed the completed window I did have a slight bottom lip wobble!
The design I created is inspired by Frank Lloyd Wrights Tree of Life design. I love everything about the simplicity of the design and his choice of colours.
