Lets say it is complicated! Born in the flat expanse of Essex I found a real interest in geology and science in general. Although not top of the class in any subject other than running and swimming, I managed to get into Cardiff University to study Geology.

The three years in Cardiff transformed my life, not only finding who I am as a person but enforcing my passion for geology. In the very last few months of my final year I met my now husband Mark Lewis. Without his love and support I would hate to think what would have become of me. Over the years I have battled depression, anxiety and some very low points in my life. We have been together over 23 years and married in 2017, the proudest day of my life.

The glass studio behind me in this photo was designed and built by Mark. He is the most talented person I have ever met, I am proud and honoured to have him in my life.
